But that would just lead to your Mac not finding the Vista machine at all when trying to connect rather than just rejecting your username and password. The ping issue should be of some concern, given you can ping the Vista box from your XP machines. I fire up MS RDC 2 for Mac and no problem. I just tried using ARD to connect to one of my Windows XP boxes I routinely use with MS RDC for Mac and it did just that.acted like it was trying, then failed to connect. It will act like it's trying but fail to connect. If you're trying this with Apple Remote Desktop 3, I don't think it works with Windows Remote Desktop Connection. I just looked over Mactopia and didn't see any mention of it and didn't notice anything on the first few pages of Google. The only other thing I can think of is maybe it's not the correct IP but the IP of another one of your Windows machines? I did that once and it drove me crazy for hours before I noticed it.ĮDIT - You mentioned Remote Desktop 3 Beta? Is this Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection? I was unaware they have a version 3 beta. Do you also have it turned off in OS X, or have Remote Desktop for Mac listed as a permitted program? You mentioned that you have the FW turned of in Vista. ![]()
